Learn about the philosophy tracing back to Sir Robert Peel’s 1829 Peelian Principles, procedural justice, current challenges, and how our police department serves our community. This program is part of the library’s weekly Coffee & Conversation series. Free and open to the public.

Beginners Snowshoeing at Whitewater State Park

Whitewater State Park Visitor Center (approximately 6 miles north of St. Charles)

Celebrate Valentine’s Day outdoors! Join park naturalists at the Whitewater Valley Visitor Center for a beginner-friendly snowshoeing adventure through one of Minnesota’s most scenic state parks. Explore the beautiful limestone bluffs and winter landscapes of the Whitewater Valley. Snowshoe rentals are available at the park. A Minnesota State Park vehicle permit is required.

The library’s annual winter reading program runs through March 31, 2026. Adults and teens can win prizes by reading books and playing Book Bingo. For every three books read, enter a monthly prize drawing. Complete Bingo challenges for extra entries, and achieve a Blackout Bingo to earn a special prize!

500 Card Game at the Senior Center

Join fellow community members for the classic card game 500 every Tuesday at the Senior Center. Lunch follows the game. The Senior Center is open weekdays with various activities and SEMCAC meals available (sign up required for meals).

Winter Activities at Whitewater State Park

Whitewater State Park, Highway 74

Just minutes from St. Charles, Whitewater State Park offers cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and winter hiking throughout February. The year-round Visitor Center features exhibits about the area’s geology and natural history, plus a Discovery Room with hands-on activities for children. Snowshoe rentals available. State park vehicle permit required.
